Happy Tuesday everyone, I hope you fully enjoyed this long weekend. Today, I decided to share with you my experience about this L'oreal True Match Lumi Liquid glow illuminator:
This is a lightweight highlighter that comes is Golden, Rose, and Ice shades to flatter every skin tone from warm to neutral to cool. I, personally, got it in Ice shade that has light pink, warm undertones and golden beige shimmer.

Product label says:
Apply all over face or use as a highlighter. Can be worn under, over, or mixed with foundation.
My experience
I don't think, mixing this highlighter with foundation is the best way to apply it because of the shimmer in it.
To be honest, using this L'oreal True Match Lumi Liquid glow illuminator as a primer, was something unrealistic to me, again, because of the shimmer in it. But being ready for the worst result, I applied it as a primer all over the face (except around eye area) and then, my liquid foundation and I have to say, it looked quite nice. The only thing is that it felt like I was wearing concealer, not liquid foundation.

I prefer to use this L'oreal product as a highlighter, to define the face. I apply on the tops of my cheeks very little amount (one cheek at a time, because you have only few seconds, before it gets dry) and blend it into the skin. Keep in mind, that you need to use your fingertip to apply this product because you don't want it got dry on any kind of applicator.
So, this L'oreal True Match Lumi Liquid glow illuminator really gives my skin nice glow and I'm glad, I didn't spend too much on high-end brand highlighters.
Have you used this product? Let me know in the comments below, and have a lovely day.
I have a similar product from Rimmel London and I add a few drops to my body lotion. It works wonders!

That's a great idea. I ned to try that way too.
DeleteI am so glad drugstore brands are coming out with more highilghers because this summer I was all about strobing and have that nice glow but that meant spending a bit more than I usually do.

Thanks Chelsea.
DeleteI'd love to try this as a highlight. I'm always wary of shimmery products to put into my foundation because I have oily skin there's always the risk that I'll look a greasy!

I have dry skin so I'm not sure this product will work perfect for oily skin too. xx

I just bought this product two days ago and still did not give it a try. Thanks for the review and the suggestions how to wear it. Now I'm excited to try it.
ReplyDeleteMarch and May
I bought this product and I agree with you - it has so much shimmer, and I tried to do like you did, though I now don;t wear it anymore... I may give it another go, it was nice, but too shimmery sometimes!
ReplyDeleteDenisesPlanet.com
I think the good result depends on the application process. I noticed if I use little more than I need, it looks shimmery on the skin, but if I use just one drop on each cheek and blend it right away, it give nice glow to my skin. Hope, you will find your way to use this product, Denise.
DeleteNever used this product but now I'm tempted to try it! xxxxx

The ice shade with it's pink hue looks quite pretty and since it has shimmer in it, the product does sound more suitable as a highlighter! Thanks for sharing!

I'm not sure if I would buy it because I'd rather get a primer which doesn't give the cakey effect! Baci,

I wish I tried this, instead of the powder version that I got. I definitely think this would work nicely as a highlighter, rather than a primer.

ReplyDeleteMy Little “Fashion” Box Review
It looks awesome. I know a lady that worked for Estee Lauder and would mix her foundation with some shimmer. It worked for her but I personally didn't like it on me. Like you, I'd rather apply it as a highligher over my foundation. Great review.

I used it when I was doing a wedding make up for my best friend. Everyone loved the result, she was truly glowing (Ok, with happiness, too but this product was the main suspect :)

ReplyDeleteA product providing glow in a bottle sounds ideal! The slight sample of it squeezed out looks really beautiful and reminds me very much of the Benefit High Beam highlighter I'm using at the moment.

I think it's suppose to be used as an highlighter, than a primer. Primers don't have shimmer afterall. It does remind me a lot of High Beam! Such a gorgeous colour <3
