Rome __ after my just one-week vacation, this amazing city forever found its place in my heart. After Paris, I could not imagine any other city would amaze me but let me tell you, I literally didn't want to come back to USA. I don't know what made me feel like I was home __ people, some of the part of Rome that looked like the streets of my home city __ Tbilisi (even my husband recognized he felt as if we were in my city), or their natural food and dessert, but it definitely stole my heart. So what I loved the most in Rome:
1. People and enviremnet in Rome
There was something special about environment in Rome that I haven't seen in other cities I had travelled to, so far. The people were so nice, welcoming and dressed up (in that way too, it remineded my home city.)
|
Colosseum, Rome, Italy |
2. Architecture
How you can't be impressed with Italian architect? From Trevi Fountain to Colosseum to Vatican City, everything was absolutely amazing and unforgettable . Unfortunatly I didn't get a chance to walk in any museums , I especiallly was curious about Vatican but it was so hot and also, there were long lines everywhere to get inside the buildings so I decided to see Colosseum, Vatican City and everything else only from ouside because of my 6 years ols daughter who was exhosted from August heat.

3. Food
I can talk about Italian food all day, I always loved Italian cousine, I knew I would enjoy the food in Rome, but I would never imagine the food would taste so good that when I came back home, I couldn't eat first two days __ everything tasted awful.
|
The first pasta with some eggplant, I tasted in Rome Italy |
|
This is a regular plain pizza by look, but if you tasted it, you would never forget its taste |
4. Our hotel
We stayed in this upscale 5-star hotel __ The Westin Excelsior Rome in the historical center of Rome that was perfect place to relax in the evenings, after our long days __ walking from one sightseeing to another in August heat. Those of you who follow me on Instagram must have seen in my InstaStories.

5. Gelato
I need to give Gelato special space in this post, it deserves it. You may remember, I quit any kind of sweet but I could not be in Italy without tasting Gelato, so of course I ate it and OMG, it was incredible __ it didn't have that artificial flavor nor the heavy sweetness, like ice creams usually have in USA, so I loved it.

Gelato for three __ in Westin Excelsior Rone hotel in Rome, Italy. The best gelato, I have ever tasted in my life , |
So, as you can guess, I enjoyed my vacation, not only me, my daughter was constantly asking me if there was any way we could stay in Rome forever LOL, she loved Italy, she still reminds me every morning that she missed Rome. We decided that we will go back to Italy next summer.
P.S.

DeleteI've been to Rome 4 years ago along with Paris, Zurich and Florence. Rome was my favorite of all of them. I loved Florence too but we only stayed for 1 night and I wish we got to stay there longer. But after my first bite of pizza in Italy, I did not want to have American pizza anymore. lol. Oh and the gelato was amazing too! I went in July and it was super hot, but it was fun seeing all of the architecture.

Le Stylo Rouge
I know so sad no one dresses up in The States forget, I had to fly to Chicago from NY and I swear the flight home looked like an episode of Shameless. Beautiful friendly well dressed people ( I noticed this in Paris too, so many of the young people were so attractive it would tough to be unattractive in Paris) good food, stunning architecture, what else is there?
