I don't think there is anyone out there who doesn't want to live healthy lifestyle but at the same time, I know how overwhelming it can be. At the begining, there are hundreds of questions in mind about what to eat and what to avoid, how to exercise and how often to exercise and etc. When I decided to start living healthy lifestyle I was quite confused, I didn't know from where to start and how to continue, but I knew, I needed to change my lifestyle not for my physical appearance but for my health, first and most. I personally started doing right things one at the time. First, I quit smoking, then coffee, then sweet, then started excercise. (you can read more about that in this post: The secrets of my 30 pound weightloss journey.)
Here are five tips I would give to myself one year ago:
Here are five tips I would give to myself one year ago:
1. Before you start, read about healthy lifestyle:
It's so helpful to read about the benefits of healthy lifestyle before you decide to follow it. It gives you more confidence and excitement that you are doing something very important for your body and soul that will benefit you rest of your life. You should also read about how damaging junk food and snack is for your body.
2. Follow healthy lifestyle followers on Instagram
Follow some healthy lifestyle advocates on Instagram, reading their motivational and inspirational captions under their Instaphotos is very encouraging, that gives you hope that if they could do it, you can do it too. I wish I did this when I was starting my journey, only recently realized, how helpful it is.
3. Clear your house from junk food and sweets
This is very important, especially at the beginning. It will be extremely difficult, (if not impossible) to stick to your new, healthy lifestyle if you see box of cookies or chips every corner of your house. At the begginig, I failed many times because I didn't get rid of junk snack at home. But once the body gets used to live without unnecessary snack, it gets easier.
4. Stop going to a supermarket or dining out
Eating out will not help you when you are starting to improve your eating habits. It's better to let you body get used to planned home cooked meals and veggies. Same thing is with going to the supermarket. If you can send someone else to the market for the grocery shopping, let them go. That way, you will not have to struggle near junk food aisles, haha you know what I mean..
5. Start eating healthy food and exercise
After all those steps, you are ready to start eating healthy and exercise. I'm not going to talk about how to eat healthy or what kind of exercise to do here.. Maybe in another post..
P.S. Hope, this was helpful for those of you who is trying to start living healthy lifestyle. Just, keep in mind that everything you have just read is based on my own experience and it doesn't necessarily mean it will work for your lifestyle in the same way.
Wish you all a wonderful week ahead.
Well done for starting a healthy lifestyle. I eat mostly healthy food but there are so many temptations, especially this time of the year. I need to get back to the gym, I say this to myself every month but I really need to start exercising again!!!

I think living a healthy lifestyle is the way to go, but I also think a little indulgence here and there is okay as well but discipline is essential! I follow some of my favourite fitness trainers and nutritionists which is very motivating--it merges my love for food with staying fit.
